WAMU in Washington, DC is searching to fill two positions: a Senior Producer and a Producer Reporter for the Kojo Nnamdi Show.
The Senior Producer is the second-in-command on WAMU’s topical, issue-oriented, regionally focused daily live interview talk show. Working closely with Managing Producer and Senior Talk Host, the Senior Producer produces daily segments, manages special projects, and oversees research and production by other producers as needed.
The Producer/Reporter, working closely with the Managing Producer and Senior Talk Host of The Kojo Nnamdi Show to develop and execute a series of talk show segments, reported feature stories, and live events related to the past, present, and future of the Washington region. The Producer/Reporter is responsible for researching a creative slate of potential stories, topics and venues related to a theme developed around the 20th anniversary of The Kojo Nnamdi Show. The ideal candidate is a capable and imaginative reporter and producer with experience researching, writing, reporting, editing, and producing feature and segments. The Producer/Reporter is also responsible for building and executing a robust and creative digital strategy for the series across multiple digital media platforms. While the Producer/Reporter will be a member of the talk show team, they will also work collaboratively with the regional newsroom, contributing related stories via newscasts, live two-ways, and features, and will work in collaboration with the Marketing team to execute related live events.
The Producer/Reporter is a one year temporary full time position.
