Teresa Collier

Large Station Representative

Teresa Collier is in charge of the Live Production Division which includes News and Public Affairs, Radio Operations and Live Television. She is responsible for the management, development and execution of live content through our television and radio networks.  Collier joined MPB in 1994 as a public affairs producer, where she was co-creator and producer of Statewide Live, a live weekly public affairs program. She also produced MPB’s hour-long legislative program, Quorum. In 2002, Collier was promoted to Senior Producer with the additional responsibilities of developing program content, as well as planning, organizing and producing live election/candidate forums on radio and television. Collier was named Director of News and Public Affairs in 2005 where she managed the day-to-day operations of statewide news coverage. In August 2005, Collier played a key role in MPB’s round-the-clock coverage during Hurricane Katrina.  Collier is an award-winning journalist and the recipient of several Mississippi Associated Press Broadcasters awards for public affairs reporting. As Director of News, Collier contributed to the department’s winning of two national Edward R. Murrow awards for feature and hard news reporting.

The PRNDI Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 2018 recipient of the Leo C. Lee award.  This year’s honoree is Keith Woods, NPR’s Vice President for Newsroom Training and Diversity.  Woods’ work in leadership training, storytelling and diversity is known throughout the journalism world.
