Reporters Trained by PRNDI

As part of PRNDI's effort to provide member benefits and fulfill its mission of improving local news by serving local public radio journalists, the organization is once again training reporters from local stations.  The reporter training is a two-day session offered by PRNDI trainers Tanya Ott and Julianne Welby and WFUV news director George Bodarky for the two days before the annual PRNDI conference in Houston.  These new to mid-level reporters are immersed in story-telling, writing and reporting techniques as they work their way through producing a story they can use on-air at their respective stations.

The reporter training sessions have been underway for the last few years, and have trained around 80 reporters around the country.  In order to participate, reporters need to be nominated by the station news director.  The sessions are free for those reporters who are accepted.
