PRNDI Board of Directors
Conference

Digital Training for Radio Reporters
A group of radio news directors and reporters is spending the day before the official PRNDI Conference learning how to expand their skills to include multi-media.
The morning session featured a crash course on video from Planet Money's Lam Thuy Vo - complete with a sandwich-making demonstration. She taught participants how to shoot video, how to edit and what equipment to buy. With examples of her work as a multi-platform journalist with the Wall Street Journal in Asia Vo demonstrated narrated pieces and pieces told in a sources own words. She says things to think about when buying video equipment include a microphone input, sound output, manual focus and exposure and memory cards. She also says a small, inexpensive tripod is mandatory.
In the afternoon, the focus will be on managing online content - and how to make your website do more and be more to listeners.
This is one of four intensive sessions being held prior to the official start of the PRNDI Conference in Houston.
